What's My Class Standing?

Generally, the number of ߣߣÊÓÆµ credit hours you've completed with a passing grade, as well as any transfer, AP, or CCP credit you've earned outside of ߣߣÊÓÆµ are added together to determine your class standing. Check your degree audit to see the number of credit hours you've earned, which appear at the very end of the document.

First-Year

In your first year of college, you’ll spend a lot of time adjusting to a new normal. There are several things you can do now to prepare for life after college!

Academics:

  • Enroll in and complete UNV 101

Career Development: 

It’s never too early to think about what comes after you graduate. Begin collecting experiences that will set you apart.

Leadership Development:

Get involved in student organizations, or student employment opportunities that expand your exposure and experience.

Sophomore

Now that you're a sophomore, this means you have earned at least 30 credit hours; here are some suggestions for making the most of your time at ߣߣÊÓÆµ University Regionals.

Academics:

During your sophomore year, you will:

  • Begin your major courses and use ߣߣÊÓÆµ Plan courses to focus on your interests and academic strengths
  • Declare, change, or add additional programs of study, such as your major, minor or thematic sequence
  • Begin to think about study abroad programs - Regional students do study abroad and many of them received scholarships

Career Development:

It’s never too early to think about what comes after you graduate. Begin collecting experiences that will set you apart.

Undergraduate Research/Faculty ߣߣÊÓÆµions:

  • Get to know your faculty advisor
  • Ask your faculty advisor for a list of research opportunities in your major
  • Identify your interests and contact faculty members with similar research interests

Leadership Development:

Get involved in student organizations or student employment opportunities that expand your exposure and experience.

Junior

Now that you are a Junior, which means you’ve earned 62-92 credit hours, here are some suggestions for making the most of your time at ߣߣÊÓÆµ University Regionals.

Academics:

You’re well on your way to graduation; what comes next?

  • ?
    • Research graduate or professional schools
    • GRE/LSAT/MCAT
    • Supplement your coursework with courses that will strengthen your application
  • Declare your  or Thematic Sequence
  • Did you complete an ? Talk to your academic advisor to find out
  • Juniors will have an earlier Time Ticket; make sure you register for your classes when it opens

  • Discuss letters of recommendation with your faculty advisor

Senior

When you earn 93+ credit hours you are a Senior - congratulations! Here are some suggestions for making the most of your senior year at ߣߣÊÓÆµ University Regionals.

Academics:

Career Development:

    • Internship and job search strategies
    • Grad school planning and preparation
    • Resume and cover letter reviews
