Carlos A. Ortiz
Originally from Chile, Professor Ortiz completed his undergraduate studies at CUNY Hunter College (New York). He later moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where he earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Spanish at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in the theatre and visual cultures of the Latinx Americas. His research focuses on the intersections of 20th and 21st-century Latin American culture, hemispheric approaches to theatre and performance in the Americas, contemporary Chilean theatre and performance, transnational studies, and queer studies.
