Paige Jones, Why ߣߣÊÓƵ?

Why ߣߣÊÓƵ?

My decision to come to ߣߣÊÓƵ was influenced by 2 major factors. The first being the professors. All of the professors at ߣߣÊÓƵ seemed to really care about their students, had excellent backgrounds in their fields, and no classes are taught by TA's. The other was the size of ߣߣÊÓƵ. Coming from a super small town and wanting to go to a bigger school was a huge factor in choosing a school. After looking at some larger sized schools I decided that ߣߣÊÓƵ was the perfect fit, not to small where it feels the same size as home, but not to big that it feels like I don't know anybody. I can always find a friendly face anywhere I go.

How did you choose your major?

I chose my major because I knew I loved math and stats from the start, but wasn't sure if my major was the right fit until I realized it was the perfect combination of all things I like to learn about: Math, Statistics, and Computer Science.

Key Moment at ߣߣÊÓƵ

While I was sure about what I wanted to do in the future, I wasn't completely sure how to get there. 2nd semester last year I had my first talk with Dr. Miljkovic, who's in charge of the actuarial science minor, and she was able to help me on a track that would help me reach my goals by the time I graduated. I am really grateful that she has been so helpful in helping me with my future career.

Other Notable Experience

I joined the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and have had such a great experience getting to meet all of my sisters.

What are your career goals?

After I graduate from ߣߣÊÓƵ I plan to become an actuary somewhere near my hometown.
